I ganked this from my friend Jill who ganked it from somebody else...thought i'd share because it's just great.....
Why Gay Marriage Should Stay Illegal
1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage would be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
11) Gay couples are a harmful influence on their kids, because all gay couples abuse their kids, daily.
(one of the saddest parts about our society is that these arguments, before the humorous common sense, are the real reasons why people can't accept gay marriages.)
makes ya think, huh.....damn society.....

Love the colors, too.
At first I was like... uh oh...
But, now I'm happy.
Thank you for sharing.

yeah, i figured the least it would do is get people to read it!
Shall be forwarding this on... :)
1) The natural argument has and always will be a weak argument.
2) I have never heard someone actually say this.
3) I doubt it will change the foundation of society, but it will change the way legal marriage is looked upon (which I will delve into a bit later)
4) Sure marriage has changed over time, but how much should we allow it to change? Should we allow it to continue to change forever to the point of allowing two men to marry two women? This "Evolution" of marriage 'is' true as you put it, but where do we stop the evolution and prevent marriage from becoming utterly pointless.
5) Sanctity and Brittany aren't allowed to be put in the same sentence. It's not that marriage will be less meaningful if gays are allowed to marry, its just that if we allow gays to marry - then we have to allow other forms of marriage because the definition of marriage is not yet clearly defined. Without a clear definition, the case for gay marriage will be cited at cases for two men marrying two women, three men marrying eachother, or even a man marrying an animal! The problem is we don't yet have a definition of marriage - so it's best to define it before we allow behavioral choice to influence it.
6) I agree, the natural argument is a weak argument.
7) Obviously this isn't true, alcoholic parents don't raise alcoholics. So I agree with you on this point.
8) "Because God says it's wrong' is obviously a weak argument, you are correct here.
9) While many people believe this to be true, it hasn't been proven, so you are correct, this is also a weak argument.
10) The point is behavioral choice, I have read countless studies on whether people are born homosexual or not - and every study concludes that 'environment plays a large role'. According to genetics, people are born 'more susceptible to homosexuality - but this does not mean they are 'born' gay. For example, I have been born with a genetic disposition to become an alcoholic - but that doesn't mean I'm going to be one without a doubt, it just means theres a good chance I may become one. Or if I was born with a disposition to becoming intelligent - it doesn't mean I 'will' be intelligent, it just means I have a better chance of becoming intelligent, it all depends on whether I choose to be or not. That being said, we are attempting to define marriage by a behavioral choice, and if it defined this way, then it must 'always' from this point on be defined this way. The same goes with polygamous marriages, marriage to animals, etc. It will be individuals 'choice' and therefore we will 'have' to allow these forms of marriage. I'm just being realistic, the case for gay marriage will, without a doubt, be cited at any future case for redefining marriage - you cannot argue with that.
11)This is an ad-hominem, and obviously is untrue. I wish people didn't think this way.
Interesting points.... everyone is entitled to their opinion. :)
Thanks for reading.
